الحرب على غزة ودورها في تعزيز ممارسة تدقيق المعلومات في فلسطين: دراسة ميدانية

This study sheds light on the reality of Palestinian journalistic practice during the Israeli war on Gaza, by exploring the role of war in enhancing information verification as one of the most vital professional defence tools in the face of a torrent of media disinformation and misleading content. The study falls within the scope of descriptive research, relying on the survey method and an electronic questionnaire answered by 62 Palestinian journalists, despite limited communication with journalists in Gaza due to the blockade and internet outages. The results of the study revealed that Palestinian journalists possess an advanced level of conceptual awareness regarding information verification. However, despite this awareness, the actual practice of verification varied in degree; it was largely characterized by individual efforts and a weak institutional structure, making information verification a personal endeavour rather than an organized collective practice.
